Welcome to the Hatfield Road Methodist Church Website
Serving Christ and the Local Community
Our Mission
- to increase awareness of God's presence and to invite people to follow Jesus Christ.
- to celebrate God's love through mutual support and care
- to help each other to grow and learn as Christians through prayer and worship.
- to be a good neighbour by helping people in need, responding to local issues and challenging injustice.
Our Vision
- to be a welcoming, growing, caring, inclusive and outward looking Christian community at the heart of Fleetville.
- to be a faithful community which bears witness to the love of God revealed in Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit.
- to be a community of disciples which works actively to encourage people to meet God and to join them on the journey of faith.
Lenten Theme - 2019
This Lent we are using the "All We Can" The Methodist Relief and Development Fund produced material to focus our thoughts.
The theme is Travel Lightly - Live Generously and we are encouraged to use the material individually as well as in ur house groups and worship together.
Denise has produced a very creative display for our Foyer board to supplement and enhance this theme.
Circuit - 24 Hours of Prayer and Fasting 15th - 16th March 2019
The Circuit are running their annual 24 hour prayer and fast, starting at 6pm 15th March with a Prayer and Praise service, at Ludwick Way Methodist Church, and running until 6pm 16th when the 24hrs will conclude with a soup and bread breaking of the fast.
There are opportunities for prayer in all of the churches of the Circuit and a timetable can be found HERE.
At Hatfield Road we have made opportunity for six of the 24 hours on Friday evening from 8pm - 11pm and on Saturday morning from 8am - 11am
We will have a number of "Prayer Stations" in the church on the themes of
- Time,
- World issues,
- Local topics and
- Talents and Tithes.
There will also be an area for quiet reflection and prayer.
Each hour will start and end with and time of prayer together.
Please drop in at any time for as long as you feel able and do not be concerned if you cannot be there for the start of an hour. Each of the stations will have explanatory material to help with your prayers.
We do hope you will be able to join us in this vital prayer activity.
If you are unable to join us but would like the material for use at home, please speak to Andrew, Roy or Chris.
Appropriate material will also be added to the website HERE and there will be some material on the church FaceBook page during the 24 hours.
In addition to our "own" prayer times there will also be an opportunity to take part in "Bread Prayers" as we pray and make bread together as a Circuit from 4pm at Hatfield Road followed by a Prayer and Praise Communion service to conclude the prayers of the day. This is at 5pm and led by our Superintendent Minister - Rev. Rosemary Fletcher.

Advent Reflections - Day One
I am writing a series of reflections and prayers for each day of Advent. These are similar to the ones I wrote for the season of Lent a couple of years ago. I hope some of you may enjoy using them as much as I enjoy writing them and find them helpful. This is the first...
Remembrance Sunday
We will remember them
In preparation for our Remembrance weekend, people made poppies – after church, at home and over a shared tea. These were displayed on our noticeboard, highlighted and visible from the road to remind passers-by – a tribute to those who gave their lives. Read more
