The Nativity 2019
This morning the children of Sunday Club led the church service with their version of the Nativity.
Set as a school class field trip, the older members of Sunday Club took the younger ones through the true meaning of Christmas and retold the Nativity story – with the younger children acting the various roles. Tomas, aided by members of the older group, provided the music.
There was audience participation too – with our Roman Soldiers ordering about members of the congregation and several people pretending to be lost sheep.
The children were fantastic. They had spent the last few Sundays rehearsing and making the props (a host of angels, some excellent animal masks and a beautiful Bethlehem Star) – and all their hard work paid off. We even had a couple of guest appearances from our good friends in Dubai.
Thanks to all the Sunday Club leaders for their hard work, to Denise for organising the very authentic Roman soldier outfits, Tomas for the music, Paul for the visuals, Tricia for the high vis vests, Eric for helping with the communion rail – and anyone else who helped. It was a real team effort.
But the biggest thanks goes to the children – they were brilliant.
