Stewards’ Corner
Quick lowdown on what the stewards have been up to.
We had our first post-Christmas meeting Fri 7 February, so reflections on the Christmas services was item 1 on the agenda. WE all thought that the services had gone really and in particular, the family oriented services showed the breadth of our CHurch Community. As Sunday mornings become increasingly busy with other commitments, it’s hard for our families to make it to church on a regular basis. It was therefore really lovely to see so many families present at the Nativity, Christingle and Christmas Day services. Thanks again to all those who helped with all the services over the Christmas. As always, it was a fantastic team effort.
Discussions then moved to 2020 as we prepare for Lent and Easter. The theme this year will follow that of the House Groups – Telling our story and finding a voice. The services during Lent will concentrate on the life of Peter.
And the big focus of 2020 will be on the Anna Chaplaincy and the Children and Families Worker. The response from the church has – once again – been amazing and truly faith affirming. The generosity of our community means that we can move forward with both and, fingers crossed, we hope to have the positions filled within the next few months. IF you want to know more, click here.
While we may have a full stewarding team, there are other vacancies that need filling within the Church. Lianne has stepped down as Sunday Club Co-Ordinator and we need more people to help hand out books/do the collection. If you want to know what is involved with each please speak to any of the stewards. WE would love to hear from you.
For now we are all very much looking forward to the Pancake Party on Sat 22 Feb. Hope to see as many of you there as possible.
If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions, please feel free to chat to any of us or email our Senior Steward on seniorsteward@hatfieldroadmethodist.org.
Until the next update….
