\nlockdown and all the accompanying challenges. At JPIT, we\u2019ve been encouraged by
\nhow churches have continued to Stay Alert to Justice, by seeking to ensure that, once again,
\neveryone has the support they need. <\/span><\/p>\n

This month, we\u2019ve got information about how your church can
\nextend welcome to EU citizens by supporting applications to the EU Settlement
\nScheme. We\u2019ve also got actions you can take to Invest in Change, and blogs,

EU Settled Status

Can you help to ensure EU citizens can call the UK home
\nafter 30th<\/sup> June 2021?<\/b><\/p>\n

\n

There are over 3.5 million EU nationals who call the UK
\ntheir home. As churches we want to create a society which welcomes everyone,
\nvaluing the contribution and presence of everyone in our congregations and
\ncommunities. But in order for EU citizens to stay legally in the UK after we leave the
\nEU, they have to apply for a new immigration status, referred to as EU Settled
\nStatus, by the 30th June 2021.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

We\u2019ve produced resources, aimed at helping church leaders
\nand those who work in the community, which signposts some of the available
\nsupport and outlines the process of application.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

We\u2019ve also got additional information for churches in Scotland, and
\nresources tailored towards supporting an application by someone who is

Last week, debt
\ncharity Stepchange released a report<\/span><\/a> that suggested 2.5 million people are
\nat risk of financial crisis due to Coronavirus. Today, the
\nJoseph Rowntree Foundation has estimated<\/span><\/a> that 2.5 million households are
\nworried about how they will pay their rent over the winter months, and 700,000
\nhouseholds are already in rental arrears.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

It\u2019s still vitally important that we call on the UK government to take action to address the growing household debt crisis in the UK
\nbrought on by Covid-19. That\u2019s why we\u2019re calling on the government to Reset The
\nDebt. <\/span><\/p>\n

Should the Government

Decades in the
\nmaking: nuclear weapons banned by comprehensive UN treaty<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

At the end of October, UN Treaty on the Prohibition of
\nNuclear Weapons (TPNW) reached fifty ratifications and will enter into legal
\nforce after a period of ninety days. Lucy explores why this is such a win for
