\"\"<\/a>As a \"bonus\" for the Sunday's in Advent. I have been looking at Charles Wesley's Christmas Hymn Book - Hymns for the Nativity of our Lord (first published in 1745). Of all the hymns it contains, probably only \"Come, Thou long expected Jesus\" is familiar to us today.<\/p>\n

When short of inspiration I often look to old Isaac Watts hymns to get the creative juices flowing again. My Methodist upbringing and resulting regular singing of Wesley's hymns has probably deflected me from doing the same with Charles Wesley's hymns.<\/p>\n

Interestingly the preface, to the edition I accessed, states that Wesley revised the words of these hymns on a regular basis as new editions were produced over a period of 40 years. We also sing \"Hark the Herald Angels Sing\" to a tune written a hundred years after the words were written. So, I plucked up my courage and thought I would have a go at bringing some of these hymns back to life.<\/p>\n

I have truly loved doing this and if you enjoy any of them all the better.<\/p>\n

For today we have hymn number 7 from the collection. \"All Glory to God and peace upon earth\". I tried to\u00a0 create a hymn like version - which I don't really like - but as I had created it have included it. It is the third version below. I suspect the A.I. engine has not been \"trained on hymns\"! The more modern worship song like version is version 10, of those I created and tinkered with, so there is still an art in producing these songs. My personal listening preference is for more rocky, electric guitar heavy music so I have added that version as well. It won't be everyone's cup of tea. Of all the songs I have written, for this series, is it up near the top of my favourites and as a result it is well played on my ipod.<\/p>\n

Credit goes to Mr Wesley for his magnificent hymn writing and Suno.com for the wonders of the music generation they have made possible.<\/p>\n

I hesitate to claim copyright on these re-writes but under the terms of the Suno licence, the music is owned by me and possibly copyright me. However, copyright is a minefield at the best of times and more so in the A.I. world.<\/p>\n
